Coachman Caravans enjoyed an outstanding weekend at the annual Caravan Extravaganza show held at The Lawns in Cottingham. Sales rose by more than a third on the previous year with a total retail value of £1.25 million.

Coachman attributes much of this success to innovations in the design and manufacture of its 2016 range, which have made its new caravans lighter, sturdier and more accessible than ever before.

This season’s collection includes new designs, upgraded features and updated upholstery, as well as two completely new layouts – one of which is unique to Coachman.

Martin Henderson, Coachman’s managing director, explains:

“We’re over the moon. The signs have been good for the caravan industry for some time now, but this year’s show at The Lawns has been an absolute joy. There was an incredible buzz, and Coachman is at the forefront of the revival.

“People are investing in their leisure time again. Our caravans are designed for those who want the convenience of a caravan with the comfort and luxury of a fine hotel. From this weekend’s feedback and sales, it seems we’ve got the formula right.

“By reducing the weight of our caravans without impacting on quality, we’ve made them more accessible – they can now be towed by a wider range of vehicles than ever. We’ve also added ALDE heating to our Pastiche models, making caravans warmer and more comfortable for all-season touring.

“The new layouts proved extremely popular, with queues of people keen to see our latest models. The innovative ttwo-berth Pastiche is our lightest fixed bed caravan, and couples praised the exclusive layout for its convenience and luxury, whilst the five-berth Vision drew plaudits from families for its ergonomic design and fantastic use of space.”

Coachman’s efforts for 2016 have been focused on reducing the weight of its caravans. Working alongside engineers from Hull University and Bostik, the world’s leading producer of advanced sealants, Coachman has developed Advanced Bonded Construction techniques which have enabled the company to produce precision-manufactured caravans that are lighter, stronger and more durable than ever before.

Coachman Caravans is one of the leading caravan manufacturers in the industry, employing almost 170 staff at its base in Hull, East Yorkshire. Its Vision, Pastiche, VIP
